Two Online Courses for

Financial Health

The COMPASS Quest

offers two 6-month online courses to improve the financial health of pastors and their churches. In partnership with the National Association of Evangelicals and funding from Lilly Endowment, Inc., both online courses are offered free of charge to any minister.

Personal Finances

(For pastor and spouse)

The "God Is Your Provider Personal Finances Course" is a six-session interactive video training for ministers to improve their overall financial health. This online course is filled with free resources from many of the leading Christian financial experts.

We recommend watching one video from the "God Is Your Provider Personal Finances Course" and completing the accompanying assignments each month for six months.

A matching grant of up to $1,000 USD for debt reduction or retirement savings is available to qualifying pastors and full-time associate pastors, upon completion of the course. A separate application for the grant is required.

Church Generosity

(For pastor and lay leaders)

This interactive video training helps the pastor, board, and leaders discover the best practices and resources to grow givers and giving in any size church by developing their own 12-month generosity calendar.

Each of the six monthly sessions includes a short video to watch during regularly scheduled meetings, followed by discussion. The sessions will take 20-45 minutes to complete depending upon the amount of discussion each month.

This course is offered free of charge and includes access to numerous free resources from many of the leading Christian generosity experts.

Quest Grant

Pastors who complete the COMPASS Quest program are eligible to receive matching grants of up to $1,000 USD to reduce personal debt and/or to increase retirement savings.

The minister’s local church provides a grant for their pastor to assist in paying down personal debt or for increasing retirement savings, upon completion of the COMPASS program.

Using the Ministerial Excellence Fund, COMPASS matches the local church grant, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 USD, essentially doubling the minister’s financial relief.
